Seasons in Malaysia

I’ve long realized it that the seasons are predictable in the West.

January-March : Post Christmas. Looking forward to spring break.

March-May : It’s spring break time.

June-Aug : Some off time is required.

Sept:Post Summer, looking forward to Halloween.

October: Halloween!

November :Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

December : Merry Christmas!

Come to the East and you could see that it does not work like clockwork here as a lot of the festivities are based on lunar calendar. As I track my calendar this year, it feels that what I have been doing :

Dec : Resting, it’s end of year — no one is working.

January : I need to put up my annual to do, but let’s wait until it’s the Lunar New Year.

February : Ok, done with my new year’s resolutions now that Lunar New Year is over. Start working.

March : Working.

April : Fasting in Ramadan. Allowing myself rest.

May : Eid celebration. Allowing myself to rest.

June : My birthday month. Allowing myself to rest.

July : Eh, it’s half year. Let’s work.

August : Working but the rest of the world is on summer holiday. Should I also go on a trip?

September : Working

October : Working

November : Working

December, again : Rest because it’s December!

Do I really work only 6 months a year? Why do I feel so overworked?

I wrote the above in jest, but yeah. I have not been writing for 3 months’ now as I had given myself permission to rest. Looking forward to H2, 2022 and if you, unlike me — will be going on a summer holiday, have fun!
